Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. She began her Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. She was in two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded the Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
