Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson (born Kristen Noel Swanson) is an American actor who became famous for the role of Buffy Summers. Her other characters include: Rebecca Becky Granger, in the telefilm Nightingales & the short lived NBC show with the same name; Erica Paget, as Early Edition on CBS and Marlowe Viccellio as Psych. Swanson is a native of California. She started acting at a young age. She was a part of the industry of advertising and appeared in a variety of commercials. In 1984 she made her first appearance on the screen with an episode of NBC's sitcom It's Your Move. She made her screen debut in 1986 on the romantic comedy Pretty in Pink. Swan gained notoriety for her gorgeous blonde lisp and the breathless sound of her voice. Recently, she's shifted from playing main characters to secondary characters. Swan won an award called the Young Artist Award in 1990 as the most promising young actress in a horror or mystery film for Flowers in the Attic.
