Katherine Heigl has revealed that she was brought up in a bubble of white and how this realization affected how she raised her adopted multiracial children. In an interview with she spoke about the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted her body didn't matter to her. However, when having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became conscious of the differences the two were. "I wanted to know Meg whether she felt different when she went out with us parents than the times she was out alone. She replied, "Oh yeah, always!" This made me realize I had been so naive," Heigl said to parents. Her anger grew by the incident, and decided to channel her anger into help her adopted daughters. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son with her 13-year husband, Josh Kelley. The couple adopted Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) and is black and was adopted in 2009.
